Technical recommendation production is one of the French Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering Society (CFMS) mission. “Recommendations for planning and designing foundations of offshore wind turbines” is one of these recommendations, published in 2019 and 2020. They were the first documents from CFMS to be published in both French and English. These documents address all aspects of offshore wind turbine foundation: foundation techniques, specific loading conditions, soils investigations, design principles and soil movement. In 2024, another recommendation document was published addressing the complementary techniques of anchor foundation for floating wind turbines.
